The Permanent Collection


The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art has nearly 6,000 art objects representing roughly 1,400 artists in its permanent collection.

Its collection of Chicago Imagists is among the largest in the world. MMoCA also has a significant collection of Mexican Modernist and a noteworthy collection of contemporary photography.

Explore MMoCA’s collection of Mexican Modern artworks—one of the finest and most extensive in the Midwest, it includes over 200 works of art by 60 artists.
