Please join us in the Museum Lobby for a printmaking workshop inspired by Wendy Red Star: Apsáalooke: Children of the Large-Beaked Bird.

The workshop will be led by Derick Wycherly an enrolled member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy, Montana and an artist who specializes in printmaking and papermaking. Wycherly received an MFA in 2022 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in printmaking and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design with a concentration in Film/Animation/Video in 2011.

The printmaking workshop is geared towards teens and adults, but families are welcome to attend. Admission is FREE, but reservations* are required.

*If you are unable to attend, please email us at education@mmoca.org or call (608) 257-0158 so that we can cancel your reservation and allow others to attend the workshop.

Take a guided tour while your print dries.

The workshop is an hour long, but prints will need about an hour to dry. We suggest that you take a free 30-minute guided tour of Apsáalooke: Children of the Large-Beaked Bird which begins 15 minutes after each workshop. Reservation is NOT required for the guided tour.

Please gather in the State Street Gallery before the tour begins. Those who are joining us after the printmaking workshops should collect their dried prints after the tour ends.
