Unrivaled, award-winning, contemporary art pottery from Mata Ortiz is coming to Madison.
In the 1970’s, a movement to create pottery in the impoverished village of Mata Ortiz, Mexico began with one man, Juan Quezada, and his patron, Spencer MacCallum. Today, this fine craft is the primary livelihood of a majority of the households in the village.
