Plan Your Visit
MMoCA GALLERIES ARE OPEN!
We’re excited to welcome you back to the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
Please be assured that MMoCA staff members are monitoring the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community and implementing safety measures recommended by local public health officials. Our top priority is always the safety of our guests and staff, and we ask that you help us keep our community healthy.
The gallery hours have changed for spring 2021:
Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: Noon-6 PM
Guests and Museum staff are required to wear masks inside the building, in accordance with Madison and Dane County Public Health guidelines. In addition, attendance will be capped to ensure proper social distancing is maintained inside the galleries.
MMoCA staff members have increased custodial duties of public spaces, including elevator buttons, railings, door handles, and faucets. Hand sanitizer and tissues are located prominently throughout the building. Anyone who recently experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or has been diagnosed with the virus is asked to stay home and recuperate.
We encourage you to check our website often, as additional policies and preventative measures may be added or amended to ensure that we follow all public health policies and recommendations from the CDC.
Feel free to contact the museum’s Director of Public Operations, Bob Sylvester, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.

The museum does not offer on-site parking; however there are a variety of parking options in downtown Madison. The City of Madison’s website is useful, providing information and a map as well as a website that shows which lots have parking available.
OVERTURE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
MMoCA is adjacent to Overture Center for the Arts, which remains closed at this time. Please enter MMoCA’s galleries through the lobby doors on State Street.
MMoCA will close when Madison Metro cancels bus service due to weather. MMoCA’s rooftop sculpture garden may be closed due to inclement weather, including icy conditions.
PHOTOGRAPHY AT MMoCA
MMoCA encourages all guests to share their museum experience online and tag us whenever possible: @mmocamadison or #mmocamadison.
Personal, non-commercial photography (without flash) is welcomed in the galleries, Sculpture Garden, Icon staircase, and other public spaces of the museum. MMoCA reminds guests to be aware of the artwork and to be mindful not to disrupt other visitors or block pathways.
More involved photography, involving professional photographers, equipment, or set-up must be discussed with MMoCA staff in advance and may require a small fee.
Please refer to MMoCA’s updated photo policies for more detail on photography at the museum:
