MMoCA GALLERIES ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED
In order to support our community and help prevent further spread of COVID-19, MMoCA’s galleries are temporarily closed.
Museum staff are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and will announce any additional programming changes through our regular channels, including this website, email newsletter, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
Please be sure to check back for information about our virtual exhibition talks and tours that are available on our website and on our Facebook Events page. We look forward to welcoming you back into the galleries soon.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, 227 State Street, Madison, WI 53703
MMoCA is closed every year on the following holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Call 608.257.0158 for more information about current exhibitions and upcoming events.
Thanks to generous support from our community, there is no admission fee for museum exhibitions. Most museum education programs are also free. Visit the events page for descriptions and details.
The museum does not offer on-site parking; however there are a variety of parking options in downtown Madison. The City of Madison’s website is useful, providing information and a map as well as a website that shows which lots have parking available.
OVERTURE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
MMoCA is adjacent to Overture Center for the Arts, which remains closed at this time. Please enter MMoCA’s galleries through the lobby doors on State Street.
MMoCA will close when Madison Metro cancels bus service due to weather. MMoCA’s rooftop sculpture garden may be closed due to inclement weather, including icy conditions.
PHOTOGRAPHY AT MMoCA
MMoCA encourages all guests to share their museum experience online and tag us whenever possible: @mmocamadison or #mmocamadison.
Personal, non-commercial photography (without flash) is welcomed in the galleries, Sculpture Garden, Icon staircase, and other public spaces of the museum. MMoCA reminds guests to be aware of the artwork and to be mindful not to disrupt other visitors or block pathways.
More involved photography, involving professional photographers, equipment, or set-up must be discussed with MMoCA staff in advance and may require a small fee.
Please refer to MMoCA’s updated photo policies for more detail on photography at the museum:
