
Art Market is back on October 3 & 4.
The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) invites artists and makers of all disciplines to apply for Art Market, a vibrant showcase celebrating the region’s finest handmade goods. From paintings and pottery to jewelry, jam, chocolate, and clothing, Art Market highlights exceptional craftsmanship across a wide range of creative mediums.
Applications close on at 11:59 PM on August 31.
Eligibility
Artists, craftspeople, makers, and local retailers who wish to sell their own handmade or locally sourced arts, crafts, and other retail goods. Vendors selling certifiable products, packaged foods, nuts, eggs, honey, and nursery stock. Non-certifiable agricultural products such as dried fruits, vegetables, beans, juices, jellies and jams, cookies and bakery, sweets and candies.
Art Market prioritizes the inclusion of objects designed and executed by the artist such as fine artworks, functional crafts, and artisanal foods and requests that the seller is the maker of the products, grower, producer, or owner of the business.
Headline
Participating vendors must pay the $200 exhibitor fee by September 18 and are responsible for obtaining a Wisconsin Seller’s Permit and providing MMoCA with relevant tax information for reporting to the State of Wisconsin via the Wisconsin Temporary Event Report (Form S-240). Vendors will be assigned an 8 x 8 foot exhibition space within the Main Galleries or Rooftop Sculpture Garden of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
Selection process
Applications will be reviewed by MMoCA staff using the criteria of originality, impact, craftsmanship, and design. Accepted participants will be notified by September 4.
