MADISON, WI-The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art releases details for a new event, Chroma. This immersive color experience will be vivid with color, and surprisingly interactive. Chroma will take place after hours at the museum (227 State Street) on Friday, April 27, 2018, from 8 pm to 12 midnight.

During the event, guests will enter artist- and designer-created color-rich environments, enjoy artist-led experiences, and will be able to jump into group art projects on each level of the museum. Chroma will celebrate color: how it feels, its intensity and beauty, how it impacts the senses, and the way we use it to express ourselves. This vibrant event will be unlike any other.

Chroma admission will include a spectrum of sweets and savories from Fresco restaurant, music and dancing in different museum spaces, and a myriad of performances and art activities. Guests are encouraged to arrive in statement attire: pops of color, intense hues, or monochromatic ensembles. MMoCA will award special Chroma Style prizes to guests wearing the best outfit for each spectral color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, or violet).

Chromatic environments, created by 12 participating artists, designers, and design firms, will be showcased in the museum’s lobby and galleries at Chroma. Projects will include architectural structures, neon and light installations, color-filled games, and interactive experiences. Chroma showcases the talents of regional artists and designers. Each design team will offer guests a unique space or experience inspired by a spectral color.

The evening will also feature three dance spaces with DJ mixes from DJay Mando (top 40, electronic, hip-hop, trap); Queer Pressure Collective (80s, 90s, international); and Glynis (down tempo, disco, house). Each DJ will create a distinct style and vibe.

General admission to Chroma is $15. Chroma VIP Insider tickets are $50 and include special insider alerts, a chance at colorful prizes, a Tattersall Distilling cocktail, photo opportunities, and more.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at, by visiting the MMoCA Lobby at 227 State Street during regular museum hours, or at the door the night of the event. Those interested in Chroma ‘Insider’ tickets are encouraged to purchase these in advance, as they are expected to sellout.
