Art Cart Instructor
Co-lead a traveling art program that provides drop-in creative, outdoor art making experiences for youth ages 3 to 12 years. The position requires flexibility to work with groups ranging in size from 5 to 40 participants. Applicants must be able to communicate clearly with diverse populations including children, parents, and group chaperones; collaborate with the program co-leader to plan and implement all program activities and projects; and procure, organize, and maintain program supplies. The estimated employment period is June 15 through August 14, 2015. Art Cart instructors are on-site Mondays, 12:00 to 8:00PM; Wednesdays, 12:30 to 8:00PM; and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
Successful applicants must be able to work outside all day with hands-on art projects, be comfortable driving a 15-passenger van, and have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Applicants must have educational background in visual arts and a minimum of 2 years leading or teaching youth. Experience working with diverse populations a plus.
