Volunteer Coordinator (LTE)
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and scheduling the volunteers needed for MMoCA’s Art Fair on the Square fundraising event, and for contacting area businesses for thank you gifts and incentives. The Volunteer Coordinator calls, meets with, and emails Madison-area volunteer and student groups, MMoCA’s Business Council members, area businesses, and volunteers from former years. This position offers an exceptional, behind-the-scenes view of the planning and execution of a large outdoor event.

The term is mid-March -July 24, 2015. Hours ramp up from 5 hours per week March through mid-May; to 15-20 hours/week mid-May through early July; to full time for 1.5 weeks in July. Must be available to work full time: several days during the week of March 9 (for training); July 1-2; and July 6-13, 2015 including both days of the fair weekend.

Qualified applicants will be positive, proactive and have proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with database management; effective written and oral communication skills; effective interpersonal and customer relationship skills; ability to take direction and feedback; ability to work well alone and in a team environment; ability to organize and manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; and have an interest in –or some experience with– volunteer management, development, fundraising, sales or marketing. Compensation is $10.00/hour (non-negotiable).
