The Stephen Fleischman Lectureship brings significant leaders across all disciplines of contemporary art to speak at MMoCA. These dialogues are open to the public for free and occur annually in April.
The lectureship was created by community members to recognize Stephen Fleischman’s legacy, launched at the time of his twenty-fifth anniversary as director of the museum. Members of MMoCA's Board of Trustees who served during the past 25 years funded an endowment to provide for an annual lecture by individuals who have made exceptional contributions to art and culture. The inaugural lecture was in 2015 with Cesar Pelli, a globally celebrated architect who designed the museum's building. The second lecture was given by sculptor Deborah Butterfield.
