Enthusiastic volunteers are vital to the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art; they complement, support, and expand our successful, wide-ranging programs and events.

Through its volunteer programs, MMoCA has an opportunity for every interest. The museum regularly seeks volunteers for a variety of positions related to special event staffing and planning, office support, and library support. Volunteers greet guests at MMoCA Openings, sell tickets at the MMoCA Art & Gift Fair, grill brats and hot dogs at Art Fair on the Square, assist with monthly mailings, and provide invaluable support for countless other tasks throughout the year.

  • Now is the best time to sign up and volunteer for the 60th annual Art Fair on the Square! Gather your friends and family, and sign up to volunteer together (while spots are available) and start your new summertime tradition. Visit to sign up directly, or fill out and submit this form and our Events & Volunteers Assistant will be in touch soon.
    All Art Fair on the Square volunteers receive complimentary food and drink tickets, and the opportunity to earn a commemorative Art Fair on the Square t-shirt by signing on for 3 (or more!) shifts.
  • Chroma: An immersive color experiece coming to MMoCA Friday, April 27, 2018. Volunteers receive free admission, join the party before or after your shift! Review and sign up for Chroma volunteer shifts here.
  • Rooftop Gardener: Volunteer Rooftop Gardener manages the upkeep, development and protection of the green spaces within the Rooftop Sculpture Garden so that it can be enjoyed by all visitors. See job description for details. Sign up to volunteer here.
