Expanded Holiday Art Fair

Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and Overture Center for the Arts
Will Present an Expanded Holiday Art Fair

Friday, November 20    noon–6 pm
Saturday, November 21   10 am–5 pm
Sunday, November 22    10 am–3 pm
MADISON, WI--The Art League of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art has joined forces with Overture Center for the Arts to present a greatly expanded Holiday Art Fair on
November 20, 21, and 22, 2009. This long-time Madison tradition, which features art and gourmet vendors, seasonal decorations, entertainment, and a sale of “rediscovered treasures” against a backdrop of stunning contemporary architecture, provides a perfect holiday shopping opportunity for Madison and surrounding communities. Holiday Art Fair 2009 will include 90+ vendors--more than twice as many as in recent years--in spaces within both the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (227 State Street) and Overture Center for the Arts (201 State Street).
Artists and gourmet vendors participating in the Holiday Art Fair come from Madison and beyond, and are chosen through a jury process. Artists will show paintings, prints, photographs, jewelry and wearables, baskets, holiday decorations, and fine craft. Gourmet Gallery vendors will feature artisan cheeses, chocolates, and holiday treats for every taste. The award-winning Museum Store, which represents craft artists and jewelers from across the country, will also be open throughout the fair. Carolers, youth groups, and acoustic musicians will perform throughout the building.
The fair will take place on Friday, November 20 (noon–6 pm); Saturday, November 21
(10 am–5 pm); and Sunday, November 22 (10 am–3 pm). Admission to the fair is $4.
Now in its 39th year, the Holiday Art Fair is the Art League's longest-running fundraiser. Proceeds from this year's fair support the museum's free education and exhibition programs, as well as the free and low-cost community and education programming at Overture Center for the Arts.
The Art League's annual Holiday Art Fair preview luncheon will take place on Friday, November 20. Luncheon guests will have the first chance to shop the expanded Holiday Art Fair and enjoy a gourmet lunch in Overture Center's beautiful Promenade Lobby. Everyone is welcome. Luncheon reservations are $25 and may be placed through November 10 by calling MMoCA at 608.257.0158.
For additional information, or to reserve space at the preview luncheon, visit and click Events/Holiday Art Fair; or call the museum at 608.257.0158.
Holiday Art Fair 2009 is generously sponsored by Wells Fargo and welcomed by Magic 98.
