Participate in Spring 2010 Gallery Night

MADISON, WI—Madison’s semiannual celebration of the visual arts, Gallery Night, will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 5 to 9 pm. Sixty-five venues will participate in this spring’s event, a record-breaking number of participants. Art lovers can look forward to an evening packed with free demonstrations, new works of art, and live performances.
- The debut of abstract and Aboriginal paintings from Bali at Indocara;
- A community and student art sale benefiting Orchard Ridge Elementary School, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church;
- A site-specific installation and performance by Kyle Pfister at The Project Lodge;
- Hanging Out, an installation of ceramic laundry by Leora Saposnik at Higher Fire Clay Studio;
- The new Gaston School Gallery in a remodeled 1910 schoolhouse;
- A trunk show featuring hand-dyed silk jackets, vests, tops, and scarves by Justine Vaughn at the Museum Store of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art;
- Original oil paintings, Old Master prints, etchings, and botanical prints dating back to the 1600s at the Westside Antiques Mall;
- An exhibition of ceramic sculpture by Crystal Chesnik at the Red Gym;
- A gallery show and open house at Winnebago Studios. Bring dough; artists will bake bread.
