MMoCA and Milwaukee-Based Guest Curator Fatima Laster Announce the 2022 Wisconsin Triennial Artists

2022 Wisconsin Triennial Artist Announcement Press Release

The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) and Fatima Laster, Guest Curator, are pleased to announce the artists selected for inclusion in the 2022 Wisconsin Triennial.

Organized by Laster owner, operator, and curator of 5 Points Art Gallery + Studios in Milwaukee the exhibition explores the intersection of race and gender as well as the under-representation of Black women artists in Wisconsin.

In announcing the participating artists, Laster said, “Enthusiastic is an understatement to my sentiments about collaborating with this phenomenal cohort of Wisconsin-tied artists and the MMoCA team for the 2022 Wisconsin Triennial. The depth and diversity between the artists and their respective practices are sure to lend themselves to an awe-inspiring and fulfilling learning experience about prolific practitioners, thinkers, and detractors to the status quo in the arts.

One should leave with an expanded knowledge and appreciation of artists’ works to follow, support, and add to their collection. That’s my charge for the institution and all visitors. There’s something for everyone to independently identify with.”
