Nathaniel Mary Quinn: Time, Memory and the Notational Self

February 7, 2019 - 1:00pm to 1:45pm

TL Solien will discuss the perception of the temporal in Nathaniel Mary Quinn's graphic structure and imagery, and address his innovative approach to the figure within the history of portraiture from the Baroque period to the present.

TL Solien is professor of art at the UW-Madison whose work embodies an idiosyncratic visual language to explore personal narratives as well as visual art and literature, including investigations of Melville’s Moby-Dick and Sena Jeter Naslund’s, Ahab’s Wife: Or, The Star Gazer.
