2020 Fair Cancelled
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, MMoCA has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Art Fair on the Square. Please look for the May 8th email from firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Other Questions? Read our FAQ list.
For those artists who were recently invited to exhibit, congratulations! We look forward to welcoming you to Madison’s most beloved summertime event this July. Prepare for a warm weekend filled with some 200,000 art enthusiasts; talented fellow artists; live entertainment; and a delicious array of foods at dozens of convenient stands. Thank you for participating, we wish you every success.
Note: MMoCA is no longer accepting applications for the 2020 Art Fair on the Square. Artists are able to apply online, at zapplication.org, November through March 1 each year.
ABOUT ART FAIR ON THE SQUARE AND COVID-19
We are paying close attention to the situation with the coronavirus. The health and well being of our community and artists around the country are of utmost importance to us. For now, we’re planning for the fair to move ahead as scheduled with cautious optimism. We hope to know much more over the next few weeks. Please be sure to read all email from email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP.

All 2020 invited artists have three required steps to complete:
- Submit the online Confirmation of Participation form using the link in your notification email (i.e., www.mmoca.org/2020confirmation; or for Emerging artists: www.mmoca.org/emerge2020form)
- Submit the tax information form at www.mmoca.org/taxform.
- Watch for an email about paying your booth fee around May 22.
Exhibiting artists will be sent a pre-fair packet of information along with a booth assignment in mid-June. If you are travelling and need to download a “generic sample packet” check back here in late June.

BOOTH FEE PAYMENT OPTIONS

Set up hours:
Artists will be let onto the square from assigned entry streets beginning around 5:30-6:00pm on Friday, July 10. Set up continues throughout the night until 8:00am on Saturday, July 11.
Artists may restock with a vehicle starting at 6:45pm (or when foot traffic clears) on Saturday, July 11 throughout the night until 9:00 am on Sunday, July 12.
Saturday, July 11, 2020 (9:00am – 6:00pm)
Sunday, July 12, 2020 (10:00am-5:00pm)
Artists may begin tear down at 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

SALES TAX / REQUIRED TAX FORM
Every artist that will have a booth at the fair needs to submit Wisconsin Temporary Event Operator/Seller information to MMoCA each year at www.mmoca.org/taxform.
- If you already have a Wisconsin Tax Account Number (15-digits long and begins with “456”), you can simply fill out the online version of this form now at www.mmoca.org/taxform.
- If you don’t have a Wisconsin Tax Account Number, visit www.revenue.wi.gov/html/tempsell.html to get one, so that you can fill out the online form for MMoCA later at www.mmoca.org/taxform.
There are a variety of parking options located in the downtown area, see: City-operated parking map. The best option for artists—especially those travelling with large vehicles & RVs—would be the “Permitted Section” or ungated portion of the Brayton Lot, which is expected to be available via permit beginning in May.
