"MMoCA Weddings" and "MMoCA Private Events"
Offer Benefits for Clients and the Entire Community

MADISON, WI—The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is entering its fourth year as one of Madison's most popular venues for private events. Since MMoCA opened its new facility, the museum has booked more than 200 weddings and other private events. “MMoCA Weddings” and “MMoCA Private Events” offer unique opportunities for clients as well as substantial benefits for the museum and the entire Madison community. In addition to striking architectural spaces, MMoCA's Cesar Pelli-designed building offers three galleries featuring exhibitions of world-class modern and contemporary art. The facility's event venues—a rooftop sculpture garden, lobby, and lecture hall—continue to grow in popularity:

Rooftop guests, who have a bird's-eye view of downtown Madison, celebrate among outdoor sculptures and colorful plantings of native grasses, trees, and flowers.
In addition to a panoramic street-level view of Madison's bustling downtown, guests attending receptions in MMoCA's lobby are surrounded by artworks both there and in the adjoining gallery. MMoCA's lecture hall is a state-of-the-art facility where up to 230 guests can enjoy talks, sales presentations, annual meetings, and film screenings.

While clients and their guests gather and celebrate in one of Madison's most noted architectural and cultural landmarks, MMoCA benefits as well. Over the years, the museum has connected with new members, docents, and volunteers who all first encountered MMoCA during rental events. These individuals have become important ongoing supporters, helping the museum continue its efforts to reach increasingly diverse audiences. Guests from outside the area, who spread word about the museum when they return home, help increase national recognition of Madison as a culturally distinctive city.

Private events at MMoCA also help the museum serve the entire Madison community. Income generated through “MMoCA Weddings” and “MMoCA Private Events” helps MMoCA maintain its free-admission policy. Rental fees also contribute toward education programs for all ages, such as art talks, film programs, and a school-tour program that helps schools pay for field-trip-related bus and substitute teacher expenses.

MMoCA is an independent museum supported through memberships and through generous contributions and grants from individuals, corporations, agencies, and foundations. Important support is also generated through auxiliary group programs; special events; and sales through the Museum Store.
