ArtZone participants explore a painting by Chicago artist Karl Wirsum.
ArtZone is MMoCA's afterschool art program for 4th through 6th grade youth. Offered on a Thursday or a Friday afternoon, ArtZone involves students from neighborhood and community centers in a two-hour workshop at the museum that combines engaging tours with related hands-on art activities. Students participating in organized afterschool programs at area schools are also welcome to register for the program. MMoCA provides supplies, instruction, and transportation free-of-charge to ArtZone participants. A flexible schedule of ArtZone workshops led by an experienced art educator is offered throughout the school year. To learn about upcoming ArtZone sessions, youth coordinators should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Support for ArtZone has been generously provided by the CUNA Mutual Foundation, the Capital Times Kids Fund, U.S. Bank Foundation, UW Health & Unity Health Insurance, and the Madison Arts Commission, with additional funds from the Wisconsin Arts Board.
