A Biennial Design Showcase
Design MMoCA celebrates art and design by placing the region’s design community at center stage. This event allows creative professionals from many disciplines to dream up designs of unlimited vision – using works from the museum’s permanent collection as inspiration. Design MMoCA is a unique opportunity for design professionals to develop an idea with a level of creative freedom not typically experienced in day-to-day design work.
Save the date for Design MMoCA 2016: The fifth biennial Design MMoCA will open on Thursday, April 28 and run through May 8, 2016. Check back for details.

The fourth biennial Design MMoCA showcased the resulting works from April 25 – May 4, 2014, drawing thousands of art and design enthusiasts during this 10-day event. Both a fundraiser for MMoCA and a signature event, related activities include a preview gala, a public meet-the-designer session, a series of gallery talks, and more.
Design MMoCA Preview Gala: Thursday, April 24, 6-9:30 pm
The Design MMoCA Preveiw Gala is an exclusive preview event featuring sparkling beverages, hors d’oeuvres, and galleries brimming with transformative designs inspired by works from the permanent collection of MMoCA. Guests are among the first to experience the Design MMoCA showcase of interior, graphic, industrial, interactive, and fashion design; architecture; and landscape architecture. Attendance supports the museum’s free year-round exhibitions and education programs.
