Director of Development
The Director of Development collaborates with the staff and Board of Trustees of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art to secure contributions for the museum’s programs, operations, endowment, acquisitions, and capital needs. This includes the formulation of a comprehensive development plan with strategies to achieve MMoCA priorities.
The Director of Development works closely with the museum’s Director and Board to cultivate and steward potential and existing donors, and secure major gifts and sponsorships for MMoCA’s programs and events. The incumbent coordinates the MMoCA Circle, the museum’s planned giving program; the museum’s corporate membership program; the Annual Fund campaigns; and grant submissions and reporting. The Director of Development leads and manages department staff.

Art Cart EXTRA! Instructors
Saturdays, June 16, 23, 30; July 7, 14, and 21
9 am to 5 pm
This position is responsible for developing and leading visual art activities for the museum’s summer Art Cart EXTRA! program.
MMoCA seeks two instructors for Art Cart EXTRA!, the museum’s free outdoor art program. Art Cart EXTRA! travels to parks in Dane County, bringing expert instruction and a relaxed attitude to portable art projects.
A team of two teachers lead Art Cart EXTRA! activities and are present for all program sessions. Special circumstances requiring a substitute for one program day will be considered.
Instructors work an eight-hour day, 9 am to 5 pm. Two communities are visited each Saturday; on-site program sessions take place from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 to 4 pm. Teachers travel to and from program sites in the Art Cart van. Hourly rate beginning at $18 per hour; $25 per hour for applicants with art education certification and teaching experience.
- Experience teaching visual art to children ages 5 to 10 years old
- Enthusiasm for working with a diverse population of children and families in an informal learning environment
- Ability to stand for up to two hours and to lift and move art supplies weighing 25 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors
- A driver’s license and strong vehicle safety record
