MMoCA's Learning Centers offer families a variety of fun and engaging resources for exploring MMoCA’s exhibitions. Children’s books and a range of kid-friendly activities promote imaginative play inspired by works of art.
For adults, books on Frank Stella and a 25-minute documentary video of the artist working in his studio complement the exhibition. Visitors will also find a revised and expanded second edition of The Prints of Frank Stella: A Catalogue Raisonné, 1967–1982 (New York: Hudson Hills Press, 1983), which was produced by MMoCA's senior curator, Rick Axsom, and published by the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation in association with MMoCA.
Families may also use the MMoCAkids ArtPack, a shoulder bag filled with a flexible set of interactive creativity tools for use in the galleries and at home. Inside, find a special art activity designed for Frank Stella Prints: A Retrospective.
These interactive handouts help parents talk about art with their children, encouraging them to think imaginatively about what they see while learning about art and artists. Use Let's look to explore Juam, State I on view in Frank Stella Prints: A Retrospective.
