MMoCA Marks One-Year Anniversary
With Special First Fridays Celebration
MADISON, WI – Since opening in its new home a year ago, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art has presented ten acclaimed exhibitions, welcomed nearly 200,000 visitors, and established a number of new programs and traditions. One of these traditions, First Fridays at MMoCA, will be the setting for the museum’s first-anniversary celebration. Visitors are invited to drop by MMoCA between 5:30 and 8 pm on April 6 to enjoy a special edition of this signature event.
The anniversary celebration will include these festivities:
- Anniversary cake (while it lasts);
- Music from one of Madison’s favorite cover bands, the Hometown Sweethearts;
- Party hat decoration in MMoCA’s education classroom;
- Docent-led tours of current exhibitions.
The cost for the April 6 First Fridays at MMoCA is $5; however, the event is free for MMoCA members and for anyone wearing a party hat.
First Fridays at MMoCA are sponsored by Newcomb Construction Company, with media support from Isthmus Publishing Company.
