Art Fair on the Square

July 9-10, 2011

Bid, Collect, Rest

In addition to original works of art, visitors to Art Fair on the Square 2010 discovered several complementary events:

SILENT AUCTION TENT

A signed and framed copy of Art Fair on the Square's featured artwork, Madison Chess, was among the items available to the highest bidder at the Silent Auction Tent. Located at the Wisconsin Avenue intersection of the Capitol Square, the tent featured donated works from hundreds of exhibiting artists. Revenue from the Silent Auction Tent supports MMoCA’s free exhibitions and education programs and lets shoppers sample the variety of works available at the fair.

kick-off BREAKFAST

Edition MMoCA hosted its third annual Art Fair on the Square “Kick-Off Breakfast” on Saturday, July 10. Participants met at Fresco, the Museum’s rooftop restaurant, for a light breakfast and a presentation on strategies for building a personal art collection. Guests received illustrated “insiders’ guides” to the fair with information about specific artists exhibiting at the fair, helpful hints on interacting with artists, and space for note-taking at the fair.

MMOCA MEMBER OASIS

The MMoCA Member Oasis, located on Wisconsin Avenue adjacent to the Silent Auction Tent, provided a pleasant setting where members relaxed away from the sun, enjoyed a massage and a cool drink, and stowed packages.

Madison Chess by Ray Maseman will be among the items available to the highest bidder in the 2010 Silent Auction Tent.
